Welcome to Laithes Primary School
It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to Laithes Primary School.
Laithes is a happy, ambitious and inclusive school where children are at the heart of everything we do. We are incredibly proud of our school, our pupils and the community we serve, and we are committed to ensuring that every child feels safe, valued and supported to achieve their very best.
Our vision is simple: every child should have the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting point, individual needs or circumstances.
We have high expectations for all our pupils and provide a broad, engaging and ambitious curriculum which develops knowledge, skills, confidence and a genuine love of learning. We want our children not only to achieve academically, but also to become confident, resilient and caring young people who are well prepared for the next stage of their lives.
We are particularly proud of the inclusive culture we have created at Laithes. Every child is known as an individual, and our staff work hard to ensure that children with additional needs receive the right support to thrive. Our specialist SEND provision, alongside the support provided throughout our mainstream classes, is an important part of our school. The quality of our SEND provision is consistently recognised through external review and was praised during our most recent Ofsted inspection.
Our latest Ofsted inspection in May 2026 provided wonderful recognition of the work taking place across Laithes. Inspectors recognised the ambition of our leadership, the consistently effective quality of teaching, the strength of our Early Years provision, our highly effective support for pupils with SEND and the positive attitudes our children demonstrate towards their learning.
We are equally proud that Ofsted recognised something that is very important to us – the strength of the relationships between our pupils, families and staff. Laithes is much more than a place where children come to learn; it is a community where people care about and support one another.
Learning at Laithes also extends far beyond the classroom. Our children benefit from educational visits, outdoor learning, enrichment activities, sport and a wide range of experiences designed to broaden their horizons. We encourage children to be curious, take appropriate risks, develop independence and discover their own interests and talents.
The social and emotional wellbeing of our children is central to everything we do. We work closely with pupils and families and, where additional help is needed, provide strong pastoral and multi-agency support. We want every child to feel that they belong at Laithes and that there is always someone here who will listen, encourage and support them.
We know that children achieve their best when school and home work together. We therefore greatly value the relationships we build with our parents and carers and encourage families to be active partners in their child's education.
Laithes Primary School has been proud to be part of the Every Child Matters Multi Academy Trust since April 2020, working collaboratively with schools across the Trust while retaining the individual character and community spirit that make Laithes so special.
